Favorite Free Programs

PDFCreator - an "open source" program that installs a PDF Printer for most applications, including Word, Excel, Internet Explorer, and Firefox. You will most likely want to download the "AFPLGhostscript.exe" file.

WisdomSoft Screenhunter - allows you to capture pictures of your computer screen. Useful for developing tutorials, or capturing Windows error messages.

Microsoft PowerToys - free "power user" programs from Microsoft that enhance and extend the functionality of Windows XP. I particularly like the Calculator and the Image Resizer.

Firefox - a fantastic web browser in its own right, and an excellent alternative to Internet Explorer. Use link on left to download with the Google Toolbar!

Suffolk University - This is my day job...well, I teach night classes, so I guess it is my night job. Learn about Suffolk's School Counselor Education Program, in particular if you like.

Center for School Counseling Outcome Research - people dedicated to improving the research knowledge base in the field of school counseling.

Free online survey host for counselors - just found this gem; you can create online surveys, send people to the website to fill them out, then download the data in a .csv file that you open with Excel and analyze with EZAnalyze (or SPSS). The data will work immediately with EZAnalyze - no reformatting needed!

American School Counselor Association - if you are a school counselor, you should be a member of this organization. Their resources section is growing in size and utility!

Logo Generator - This website creates nifty looking graphic logos for you, which you can then place in websites, documents, etc.

Techbargains.com - daily technology deals, updated regularly. You can also search archives to see if your local technology superstore is really giving you a fair shake.

Google News - News that is updated regularly, only as Google can do it!
